Over the weekend, we officially released a new web user interface for our members.
This new interface greatly improves the look and feel of the site, along with added usability enhancements that will enable you to get things done quicker and easier.
Take a look at this video for a full demonstration:
You login to use the new interface using either your BirdDogBot desktop software, or simply login at BirdDogBot.net

I appreciate the amount of thought and effort you have put into BirdDogBot, Kosta. It may serve me well in the future. What gives me pause right now is the need to use Parallels on my Mac. I’m aware of being opened up to virus issues and the need for fussy and expensive Anti-virus protection that Windows users typically need. I am wondering if your 2.0 launch will still need this requirement. Also, I am interested in meeting fellow Canadians who are currently investing in the US. Is there an active REI group in the GTA that focuses on US investing? Thanks for your initiative on this great project. I’ve tucked away all your emails for the future.
Hi Marie,
The technology we used to build BirdDogBot only supports windows so that’s the reason why we can only support windows right now. BirdDogBot 2.0 will also be Windows-only unless there’s some unexpected news coming that I’m not aware of.
With regards to your concerns about “expensive” anti-virus solutions, you can use ESET and that only costs $30/year. It’s what I use and it’s one of the best AV’s on the market right now. Given the premium price you pay for a macbook with equivalent specs as a PC, the price of the anti-virus is a drop in the bucket. Furthermore, contrary to what apple will have you believe, no computer is immune to viruses and all you have to do is google “anti virus for mac” and you’ll see a whole bunch of options. If they were immune to viruses, then companies wouldn’t invest millions in creating anti-virus solutions for it. Therefore if you’re running your mac without anti-virus you’re also exposed to virus threats, granted there aren’t as many.
As far as REI groups in the GTA go, take a look at Sunil Tulsiani’s Private Investment Club. Sunil is great and I used to go to all the meetings, but haven’t been able to go recently as I’ve been pretty busy with all sorts of projects, not the least of which is BirdDogBot. He does a lot of investing in the US so I think you’ll find it quite relevant if you’re looking to do the same.
Thanks for your comment!
